About the Area

The coastal suburb of Port Kennedy is located 48km from Perth and only a five minute drive to direct access to the city via the freeway and the furure Warnbro railway station(2007). Nestled between the tranquil waters of Shoalwater bay and the fantastic surf beach at Secret Harbour boasts vast white sandy beaches and magnificent sunsets over the Indian Ocean. Formerly known as Becher Port Kennedy was renamed in 1990 after the former governor of Western Australia sir Arthur Edward Kennedy. Port Kennedy covers an area of 42 square miles, consists of approx 4200 homes 80% of which are homeowners and 77% of these homeowners have children. The median property price in October 2006 was $390,000 which was a 30% increase over the proceeding 12 months. Apart from the glorious beaches Port Kennedy is also home to a world class golf course which opened in 2002 and has been voted the best in WA and the 10th best in Australia. The golf course is set in the thousand year old sand dunes with astonishing Indian Ocean views. There is a new waterfront village due to be constructed by Mirvac Fini only a five minute stroll from the golf course. Port Kennedy has the following services, bus route, four schools, a retail park which includes Bunnings, Harvey Norman, Hungry Jacks, Red Rooster and Port Kennedy Tavern and restaurant.
